Christmas in the Air

Hello stamping friends!  I don’t know about you, but it’s a bit difficult to get into the Christmas Spirit until after Thanksgiving.  Now that the big feast is over, and the leftovers are gone…it’s easier to focus on my favorite holiday of the year.  Have you gotten your cards finished and ready to be mailed yet?  I certainly don’t, and I’m posting some goodies I’ve found in the gallery for your inspiration and mine.  Enjoy!

This is a beautiful and clean design by Kendra.  I love the patterned ornaments with the baker’s twine, and what great texture too!!

Here we have a pretty Stick Chick with her ornaments ready to go on the tree.  I love the colors Joy used for this, and her sewing looks perfect.  The clear snowflake is a wonderful accent also.

Check out this great tag that Kelli made.  I love her tree with the sweet chipboard star,  the pretty ribbons, and great embellishments.  A lovely addition to any gift.

The final project I’ve included, is a soft and beautiful card made by Pam.  I love the peachy colors, great texture, and beautiful bow!  The music background is perfect as well.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’ve been inspired with these fabulous designs created by my fellow “Teamers”.  I know I sure am!  Take good care!  ☺

Weekly Recipe- Sketch Challenge #10

Hi stamper friends.

It is my turn for the sketch challenge.

I have recently been thinking about all that I have NOT done to be prepared

for the holidays.   I decided that yesterday I would mass produce some

Christmas tags to go along with my sketch challenge.  So now I have at least

something done for Christmas.  HAHA.

I always love creating by own background paper with stamps.

My stamps on this project came from this set.

If you play along with this sketch make sure to upload it to the GRS facebook page.

Good luck with all your Holiday preparations and for those of you in the US Happy Thanksgiving.

Warm and Cozy Goes Gourmet

Hi from Pam! As the weather is finally getting cooler and fall-like here in California, I decided to go with the warm and cozy theme for today’s post. No need for iced tea and lemonade…it’s all about those yummy comfort-inducing beverages. My first pick is a card created by one of the Lizzie Anne Designs‘ line designers, Tricia (Lizzie), and features this darling paper-pieced pot of tea and matching cup from the “Tea Time” set. What a fun set this is! Various pots to choose from, with various handles and spouts, and unique cups as well…all of these to go with perfect sentiments like the one that Tricia used, “You’re My Cup of Tea”!

This second cozy card was created by über-talented team member, Deb, and features the cider mug from the October 2011 release, “Tart & Spice”…an apt description for that perfect fall concoction. Great fall inspired colors and embellishments round out the warm fuzzy feeling you get from this card.

My eye was immediately drawn to this pretty card created by our other LAD designer, Meredith (Anne). I love pink and brown together, and her addition of the pierced and scalloped borders were the perfect feminine touch with the sweet “Love You a Latte” image from LAD’s  line of Singles. You just know there’s something yummy in that cup! (I’m thinking mocha latte!)

After all this warm and cozy inspiration from the team, I thought that I’d post my own creation featuring an image from the Murray’s Law line, “Ho Ho Ho”. The Santa in this line is not your average jolly gift-giver. Nope, he has a definite edge to him, which makes me wonder a bit just what he has in that cup of cocoa? Be sure to check out that entire line if you prefer your holiday cards to have more humor than sentiment. For my card, I created a pocket in front to hold a gift card for a Cup O’ Joe or Co Co Co! Before you tuck yourself in with your preferred cup of coziness, a fluffy afghan, and a great book, be sure to visit the GRS website where you can purchase all these great images featured today…and bonus! Many of them are 25% off right now.

Truly Angelic!

I know it isn’t Thanksgiving yet, but cardmakers and crafters are busy putting finishing touches on their Christmas cards, and already the stores are bringing out the holiday decorations!  Some of my favorites include images of angels, and today I’d like to showcase some of the beautiful cards my design team mates have made using the angel from our Diners’ Club set, Season’s Greetings.

Pam made a pair of angel cards using a gorgeous foil technique.  SO very elegant!

Joy embossed hers with gold…she is absolutely stunning!

Kendra created a beautiful angel with white embossing and Smooch spritz.  Rustic and also elegant!  I love the damask background!

Look at this clean and simple beauty by Taylor!  Absolutely lovely!

I hope you’re inspired to use some angels in your Christmas crafting!  We hope to see you here again tomorrow for our design team inspiration challenge!

Weekly Recipe – Sketch Challenge #7

Hi! *Big Wave* It’s Kelli here for the first time on the GRS blog! It’s another Friday and time again for the Weekly Recipe! This is my first sketch to make. They are harder to make than they look!

And here is my example with this sketch. I used this die cut paper by Basic Grey, but when I cut it out, some holes get made which became the perfect spot for that felty snowflake! That teal paper is handmade and has a ton of shimmer to it. Alright, now it is your turn! And if you would prefer to make it a square card, feel free to! Thanks for stopping by!
